Blackpool Illuminations 3 September - 7 November 2010

6 miles of Blackpool's sea front comes alive with over one million lights, in one of the countries best free shows.

This annual event starts with a night of celebration, with a free concert and celebrity switch. This year ROBBIE WILLIAMS will be guest of honour to switch on the lights

During the illuminations other complementary events take place.

• Take a sneek preview with ride the lights event on 31st August. The prommenade is closed to traffic whilst the public cycle through the illuminations
• World Fireworks championship. Top firework companies from around the globe will be invited to stage pyrotechnical displays, bringing an International flavour to Central Promenade during the week end of 11th & 12th September during Blackpool’s World Famous Illuminations season. 
• Two of Blackpools trams are illuminated, and are an extremely popular way of seeing the lights.

For the best time to see the lights visit mid-week, as traffic through the lights at week ends will be very slow.
